Common Questions
I do not know my hardware revision. What should I do?
Check the PCB silkscreen or product page first. If you are still unsure, do not
flash yet to avoid using the wrong firmware. See
Identify Your Keyboard & PCB.
Keys behave incorrectly after flashing. What should I check?
Confirm you downloaded firmware for the correct model, revision, and layout (especially standard vs. Ortho).
My keyboard supports Bluefruit and DuoChord. Which should I pick?
- If the module currently runs legacy BLE firmware (Bluefruit): pick the legacy BLE firmware; to move to
DuoChord, follow the fixed
first migrationsequence. - If the module already runs DuoChord: pick the DuoChord firmware.
- If you cannot confirm the current state, stay on the Bluefruit path and do not guess.
What is the difference between Command65 and Command65 PE?
- Command65: Bluefruit / DuoChord (BLE only).
- Command65 PE: ATmega32U4 + CH592, USB / 2.4G / BLE.
- Their firmware cannot be mixed.
What is the difference between Skog Reboot rev A and rev B?
- rev A: AT90USB646.
- rev B: AT90USB1286.
- MCU, RGB driver, and firmware differ; do not mix.
What is the difference between legacy Manta AVR PCBs and Manta40 rev2?
- Legacy AVR PCBs (40s Hotswap / Solderable / Ortho): ATmega32U4 + Bluefruit/DuoChord.
- Manta40 rev2 / rev2 Ortho: STM32L412 + CH592 (Trichord).
- Their firmware cannot be mixed.
Trichord behavior is not what I expected. What now?
Read Trichord Basic Operations and Trichord Device Differences first, then
verify your model's default behavior.
My keyboard uses Trichord. I plugged in a USB cable, but VIA or Vial cannot detect it.
Use the command combo Left Shift + Right Shift + U to switch the keyboard to
USB mode, then reconnect the USB cable and configure it in VIA or Vial.
A wireless device cannot be found. What should I do?
- Press the target channel key (
2.4GorBLE1–BLE5). - If discovery fails, press
PARto force pairing. - If it still fails, run
CLR(double-press confirm) and pair again.
