Product relationship

Manta40 rev2 is part of the Manta keyboard family, the first-class TriChord PCB of the family. The same family also includes legacy AVR PCBs (see Manta Family Overview).

Do-not-mix warning

• Manta40 rev2 and Manta40 rev2 Ortho firmware cannot be mixed.
• Manta40 rev2 (TriChord) and Manta legacy AVR PCBs (Bluefruit/DuoChord) firmware cannot be mixed.
• Do not flash F60w or other TriChord model firmware onto Manta40 rev2.

Firmware, VIA JSON definitions, and SHA-256 checksums are available in the Download Center (see Firmware Downloads).

When you need to update firmware

1. Download the .uf2 firmware matching Manta40 rev2.
2. Enter bootloader (see Wired Flashing).
3. Copy the .uf2 file to the mounted USB drive.
4. After reboot, test typing, layers, wireless switching, and pairing.

Manta40 rev2 uses the TriChord wireless architecture and is not part of the legacy BLE firmware → DuoChord migration.

Ready-to-use default keys

In factory defaults, TriChord keys are on Layer 3 (the fourth layer; hold bottom-right RAlt):

• Tab / A / S / D → CH0 / CH1 / CH2 / CH3
• Z / X / C → CLR / PAR / TOG

  Hold both Shift keys first, then press a command key:

First pairing checklist

1. Press a channel key (2.4G or BLE1–BLE5).
2. If discovery fails, press PAR.
3. If connections are mixed up, run CLR (double-press confirm) and pair again.
